Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye has named four players he thought the Amakhosi should’ve signed in the recent transfer window.
The Glamour Boys completed their business early, with Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana and Edmilson Dove the final two additions to their squad, which meant the club had a quiet end to the window, while Orlando Pirates made three Deadline Day signings.
Khanye also thought Chiefs might enter the market again after bringing in nine players earlier in the window and was left disappointed. He felt the club should’ve gone for players such as Kermit Erasmus and Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo, in addition to two other targets.
“They don’t want to compete, they were supposed to sign Kermit,” he told iDiski Times in an interview.
“They are supposed to go all out to get [Sphelele] Mkhulise from Sundowns, he’s not being used. Break the account, yes for quality.⁷⁶
“Chiefs should’ve gone for Mkhulise, also for me they should’ve gone for [Mduduzi] Mdantsane from Cape Town City, because I thought they would’ve gone for Ndlondlo, but now they kept quiet. I’m shocked.
“They’re not going to compete, I’m sorry, unfortunately, because I don’t think the players they’ve got are better than the players they’ve let go.”
