Striker Kwame Peprah of Orlando Pirates seems to be getting closer to a shocking January departure.after being relegated to the club’s lower ranks thus far this season.
Over a month has passed since Peprah last played for the Buccaneers and For two consecutive games, wasn’t even included in the matchday squad.
The 21-year-old has played just 84 minutes over four fixtures failing to register a goal.
This is in contrast to last season’s 38 appearances with nine goals playing as the chief striker for the greater part of the campaign.
The Ghanaian has fallen behind Bienvenu Eva Nga, Zakhele Lepasa and new arrival Kermit Erasmus while his situation will not become easier with Evidence Makgopa also added to the options upfront.
In Ghana, there are reports of protest, which is concerning given that Peprah had exit choices at the beginning of the season.
“Nothing shows that Pirates need Kwame so it will be best for him to leave permanently as soon as January and there will be engagements about this with the club,” says a source in Ghana.
“It is evidently clear that he is not the type of striker that the club will prefer this season, so the solution is to leave.
“What is frustrating is that he had options to leave before the start of the season but the offers that came in were ignored.
