With Swallows FC having taken a decision regarding former head coach Dylan Kerr, the name of a former Kaizer Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp has emerged as a leading candidate for the vacant role.
Swallows took the decision to part ways with Kerr after eight games in which his side had won two, drawn two and lost four matches.

The club, in their brief statement, did not indicate who Kerr’s successor would be in the interim, but it is expected that Musa Nyatama, who took up a player/coach role in the first five matches as Kerr’s assistant would oversee matters in the meantime.
Now, Siya sources have learnt that former Kaizer Chiefs and Maritzburg United head coach Ernst Middendorp is amongst the favourites to fill the Swallows hot seat.
The German has been spotted attending a number of DStv Premiership games since the opening round of the 2022/23 season and has gained a reputation for turning things around at clubs in the face of adversity, something he has done at Maritzburg on three occasions.
According to sources, Ernst Middendorp is the leading candidate to coach Swallows, although there are a few coaches whose names have been thrown into the hat.
