Al Ahly coach apologises for the league title failure.
Assistant coach Samy Komsan has apologised to the supporters after failing to defend the Egyptian Premier League title.
Al Ahly were outsmarted on the league title by Zamalek with a game to spare earlier in the week, ending the club’s six-year hold on the title.
The Al Ahly assistant coach says they will look to bounce back in the Egypt Cup after apologising to the fans.
“I want to apologize to all Al Ahly fans for this year’s Egyptian Premier League failure,” Kosman told ONTime Sports, as per KingFut
“Club President spoke about the reasons causing the failure of the league title, but we have to apologize to the fans.
“El Khatib’s speech affected us greatly, we take full responsibility, and we made a promise to each other that the team must perform better in the upcoming period.
“We are now aiming for the Egypt Cup title, we know that Al Ahly fans want us to win every competition we participate in.”
Despite missing out on the league title, Pitso Mosimane’s charges finished third at the Club World Cup and won yet another CAF Champions League title.
The Red Devils announced many big signings including the Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau.
They’ll look on starting the Egyptian Cup on a new gear.
