Shobier has now confirmed that Al Ahly are in talks with Kaizer Chiefs over their midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, while emphasizing that he is not the only player with whom the Reds are in talks.
When Red Devils coach Pitso Mosimane stated he would soon sign a local player, many people were left speculating as to which player he was talking to.
Al Ahly veteran Ahmed Shobier has disclosed the identity of a South African star that the Red Devils are interested in signing ahead of the upcoming season.
Pitso Mosimane, the coach of the Red Devils, left many people wondering as to which player he was referring to when he indicated he would soon acquire a local talent.
The former Bafana Bafana coach revealed this during an interview with SAfm last Friday.
“There’s a player that will come from South Africa. It’s not Lorch or Sirino but the player will come. He’s not from my former team because I don’t want to touch those players because they take me to court,” said Mosimane
Shobier has now confirmed that Al Ahly are in talks with Kaizer Chiefs over their midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, while emphasizing that he is not the only player with whom the Reds are in talks.
“The South African player that Mosimane mentioned is Kaizer Chiefs winger Ngcobo, and he is not the only player with whom Al Ahly is in contact,” Shobier told KIngfut.
Ngcobo, a product of Kaizer Chiefs’ junior program, can play throughout the offensive line and began the CAF Champions League final against Al Ahly.
The 21-year-old has scored four goals in 44 appearances for Amakhosi.
Meanwhile, if Teboho Mokoena is to leave SuperSport United for a local team, he would want to join Chiefs rather than Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mokoena is one of the players who Matsatsantsa a Pitori is slated to sell before the start of the new season. SuperSport is said to have avoided negotiations with prospective local purchasers in the aim of attracting international interest after the Olympics.
Our sources has learned, however, that if an international offer is not forthcoming, Mokoena will choose to join Chiefs rather than Sundowns on a local level.
