Sifiso Mlungwana has not sustained any injury season long. His minutes-count having shot over 2600 as the player with the most games in the league.

Sifiso Mlungwana is also a target for pirates.

His contract won’t be finalized until he returns from the Olympics. They don’t want to bother him while he’s performing national duty, but he may be permitted to return to Durban after the Olympics to retrieve his stuff, according to one insider.

Pirates await word on whether they will compete in the Caf Confederation Cup next season. Their participation was highly dependent on how Kaizer Chiefs performed in the Champions League final.

If the Chiefs had won it. They would have had to return to the competition as defending champions, relegating AmaZulu to the Confederation Cup.  However, after Chiefs’ weekend loss to Al Ahly, Pirates moved fast to seal the signing of the highly rated defender to boost their team.

Pirates confirmed four new signings earlier this month ahead of the 2021/22 season. This including Glad Africa Championship top striker Monnapule Saleng and former Maritzburg United. Bidvest Wits, and Cape Town City defender Kwanda Mngonyama.

Other newcomers include midfielder Goodman Mosele, who joined on a four-year deal from Baroka FC, and full defender Bandile Shandu. Shandu, like Mngonyama, joins the Pirates as a free agent.

Sifiso Mlungwana has featured in all 28 league games under head coach Mandla Ncikazi this season whilst keeping 10 clean sheets in the process.
