After completing no fewer than EIGHT acquisitions, AmaZulu coach Benni McCarthy expects Kaizer Chiefs to be more competitive in the upcoming season.
McCarthy, as usual, shot straight from the hip, claiming that the Chiefs are ‘buying everyone under the sun,’ implying that they have no excuse to flop next season.
And for McCarthy, Chiefs should start showing what they got up their sleeves in the Carling Black Label Cup against Orlando Pirates on 1 August.
McCarthy told the reporters at a Carling Black Label Cup press conference on Wednesday that the Chiefs have gone all out in preparation for the upcoming season.
They are buying everyone under the sun.
McCarthy is aware that the Chiefs were forced to go on a spending binge after being unable to do so in the previous two transfer windows due to the transfer ban.
Furthermore, McCarthy admits that while Chiefs brought in Gavin Hunt as their head coach, things just didn’t go according to plan.
He believes, however, that Amakhosi turned a corner after finishing in the Top 8 and reaching the CAF Champions League final.
