AmaZulu coach Brandon Truter has revealed his biggest concern ahead of the much-anticipated MTN8 semi-final first-leg clash against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Sunday (15:30).

Truter, under pressure to deliver the goods, is well aware of the pressure and expectations on the KwaZulu-Natal side.

Usuthu are without a win in their last few league games, and Truter’s mandate is to win a trophy this season.

However, the challenge for the coach is the silly goals his troops have been conceding, which can be a stumbling block to bringing silverware to AmaZulu.

TRUTER’s CONCERN
“We are concerned about the goals we are conceding; that is a worrying factor for an ambitious team,” Truter told the media.

“We must minimise the way we concede. We are very concerned about that because we can score.”

The AmaZulu coach also explained the importance of scoring at least a single goal against Chiefs at FNB Stadium.

“Expectations? It is an away game, and we want to come back with a positive result,” he said,

“A goal will do for us. It is Chiefs, and they have changed their approach with the new striker (Caleb Bimenyimana); we expect them to be totally different.”

AmaZulu’s trophy cabinet has been gathering dust for the last three decades, and Truter is optimistic they will eventually win some silverware.

“It’s very important for the club to win something; the president [Sandile Zungu] and management have spoken about that,” declared Truter.

“We must win a trophy this season; we are one game away from reaching the final. It is in front of us, and MTN8 is a cup we want to win.

“Pressure, it how you manage it, in football there’s always pressure, even in training, you must perform well.

“It is how you deal with it, and we are working on that, even with the mentality we are dealing with, on how we have been conceding because our biggest challenge is concentration,” he concluded.
