Arthur Zwane Set To Give Kaizer Chiefs Debut To Promoted Starlet!

Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane has reiterated the club’s stance to not make any further signings, but a Kermit Erasmus has other thoughts.

The Mamelodi Sundowns striker has seen himself out of favour at The Brazilians with speculation now emerging that Erasmus could join Chiefs.

CHIEFS FIRING BLANKS

With Chiefs’ currently languishing just above the relegation zone, Zwane’s side’s struggles in front of goal have been well documented. Despite adding the likes of Ashley du Preez, Kamohelo Mahlatsi and Caleb-Bonfis Bimeninyama, to their forward, the club have only managed to score a paltry five goals in seven games, while conceding eight. It would then not come as a surprise if the club’s management would be tempted to re-enter the market should a proven goal scorer become available.

Erasmus may just be that striker for Chiefs, as his situation at Sundowns begins to show no signs of changing for the better. Good finisher on his day, the diminutive Bafana Bafana International has previously shown what he is capable of when playing in the colours of Orlando Pirates and Cape Town City.

ERASMUS HAS DECENT SCORING RECORD IN THE PSL

During his time at Chiefs’ bitter Soweto rivals, Pirates, Erasmus was able to find the back of the net 17 times in 65 appearances. He then earned himself a move to French Ligue 1 side Rennes, where he failed to score in 10 appearances at the club. His return to local football through Cape Town City saw him with a decent return of 15 goals in his 35 appearances for the Citizens. That form prompted Sundowns to sign him, seeing the player return amongst the top sides.

Now according Soccer-Laduma, Erasmus is of the impression that he could return to Soweto, only this time, in the gold and black colours of Chiefs

COULD HE JOIN AMAKHOSI?

“ No one can afford it, unless Sundowns pays half the wage. The player (Erasmus) believes he can join Chiefs” the publication claims an insider told them.
