Arthur Zwane Set To Give Kaizer Chiefs Debut To Promoted Starlet!

Kaizer Chiefs utility player Njabulo Blom has reportedly already made up his mind about his future at the club.

Blom has been the subject of contract talks that are reportedly stalling between his agent Rob Moore and Chiefs, but that has not changed anything for him apparently.

Blom right back switch

Blom, made a seemingly permanent switch to the right back position last year under former Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter.

This came after another former coach Gavin Hunt had given the youngster a chance to establish himself in the heart of the club’s midfield two season’s ago.

Having broken through to the first team ranks being deployed on either full back under Ernst Middendorp, it seemed like the versatile academy product had finally found a position under Zwane.

Having made the Chiefs right back berth his own the previous season, Zwane seemingly gave Blom a chance to pick up from where he had left off.

However, things did not seem to go according to plan for Blom, in the league opener against Royal AM as attackers often got the better of him, during their 1-0 loss.

In hist post-match interview, Zwane was blunt in his reasoning for dropping the club’s academy product afterwards, saying the player had a ‘terrible’ game.

Blom has not regained his starting berth in the Chiefs defence since and the recent contract situation going public would not have made matters any better for the player either.

Now while there may be some concerned Amakhosi supporters, fearing that they could lose a player that they have become endeared to over the years, it seems like they might have nothing to worry about. That is because, according to The Citizen, the player is keen to stay at his boyhood club for the long run.

“What was said last week was very disturbing, it is not nice when you are a player and you find yourself in such a situation, He (Blom) doesn’t like what is happening and all he wants is to see the negotiations done because he wants to focus on his career.

It’s disturbing for him, but he has been trying to take his mind off those things by training and still showing commitment to the club (Chiefs) despite everything that has been said and the on-going negotiations.” Said a source to the publication.

Player stance revealed

The source, who is claimed to be close to Blom continued by revealing how the player views Chiefs amid the contract talks.

“He respects Chiefs, he loves the club and he has been there for many years now.

He is one of the true success stories of the Chiefs development programme and he wants to continue being at the club. There is still a lot that he wants to achieve and hopes his future lies with Chiefs.

” Concluded the source
It remains to be seen if Blom gets his wish of a new deal wrapped up quickly and if he can win back his place in the Chiefs starting line up.
