Kaizer Chiefs squad has just officially become bigger. Reports say two new internationals have received the green light from the Department of Home Affairs.

KAIZER CHIEFS DUO GET WORK PERMITS

Following the signings of Edmilson Dove and Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana in recent weeks, the two foreign nationals have been unavailable due to work permit application proceedings.

According to SABC Sport, the duo has finally received their papers to work in Mzansi.

“SABC Sport understands the foreign duo of Mozambican international defender Edmilson Dove and Burundian international striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana have received their long-awaited work permits,” the report said.

This means that the 26-year-old Dove could make his debut in the left-side of central defence, while the 24-year-old Bimenyimana could start in the number nine position this weekend against AmaZulu.

COMPETITION FOR PLACES

So what does this mean for certain players in the Amakhosi team?

In the central defence, it means the likes of Njabulo Ngcobo and Siyabonga Ngezana could drop to the bench to allow Zitha Kwinika and Dove to start, though Ngcobo will not make it easy for Dove to take his shirt.

In attack, Bimenyamana does not really have competition. He is the only tradition number nine in the squad right now. What is likely to happen is the likes of Khama Billiat and Ashley Du Preez moving to wide areas.

Billiat should play in his best position as a number 10, while Du Preez, Keagan Dolly, and Kgaogelo Sekgota occupy the wide roles
