Kaizer Chiefs players who could still leave the club before the June transfer window closes
As reported by The South African, there are three Kaizer Chiefs players that could find themselves out of Naturena come the end of this transfer window.
Amakhosi have started the season with a mixed bag of results – more bad than good, unfortunately.
This has prompted Arthur Zwane, Dillon Sheppard, and the Motaungs (Kaizer, Bobby and Jessica) to be on red alert as the transfer window comes to a close.
- Eric Mathoho
Mathoho has not started a game for Amakhosi since his shocking blunder against Golden Arrows in March.
That’s five months of not starting for Chiefs, not under Stuart Baxter nor Zwane and Sheppard. There is a reoccurring theme here, Mathoho is no longer favored at Naturena amongst any of the coaches.
He seems to have lost his touch as he grew older. With the transfer window officially closing on 22 September 2022, Mathoho’s future at Amakhosi remains is uncertain than ever before.
- 2 Siyabonga Ngezana
Ngezana has recently become a regular starter for Amakhosi.
However, he had an absolute shocker against Mamelodi Sundowns. His blunder of note and the penalty that he conceded to make it very difficult for Zwane and Sheppard to reselect him again.
With the likes of Njabulo Ngcobo, Austin Dube, and Zitha Kwinika available, his future at Naturena remains in jeopardy.
- 3. Happy Mashiane
Believe it or not, Mashiane is still a registered Chiefs player. Once a fan favorite, Mashiane has now dropped to the reserves and like Mathoho he has fallen out of favor with the Amakhosi coaching staff.
Mashiane is full of potential but it remains to be seen whether Zwane and Sheppard will give him a new opportunity to prove himself.
Currently, this remains highly unlikely. He could very well find himself leaving Chiefs before this transfer window as the youngster searches for regular playing time.
