Gavin Hunt, the coach of the Kaizer Chiefs, and the club’s management are said to be at odds over transfer goals. In the middle of last season, FIFA slapped the Glamour Boys with a two-transfer-window suspension for illegally signing Malagasy international midfielder Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana. On the other hand, Chiefs were adamant about going down fighting, but their appeal was ultimately rejected by FIFA.

Around the time the appeal was filed and when it was dismissed, there was a lot of doubt. The longer it went on, the more hopeful Hunt seemed to become. Three of his former Bidvest Wits players were invited to practice with Chiefs at that period. S’fiso Hlanti, Phathutshedzo Nange, and Brandon Petersen were all photographed at Naturena, putting their skills to the test.

GAVIN HUNT HAD ALREADY STARTED TO SHOW HIS HAND WITH KAIZER CHIEFS TRANSFER TARGETS

It’s no secret that those players were summoned in the hopes of reuniting with Hunt at Chiefs. The fact that the Chiefs’ management allowed those players to practice with their team may indicate how confident they were in Hunt’s transfer decisions. Gavin hunt now seems to have lost the wholehearted backing from chiefs

Fast forward almost a year, and the seasoned mentor, oddly enough, seems to have regained his faith. According to The Citizen, Hunt presented the club’s management with a list of his preferred transfer goals, but the executives were not persuaded.

EVERY TRANSFER Goal WILL PROVE TO BE A CHALLENGE FOR HIM.

This may be concerning for Hunt, as it is the second time the Amakhosi management has reportedly vetoed his transfer target. It was also recently reported that owner Kaizer Motaung Senior had reservations about Moroka Swallows striker Ruzaigh Gamilden, who ultimately conceded after being outvoted by the management.
