Zambia international striker Justin Shonga will further his career in Egypt after spending four years in the DStv Premiership.
Justin Shonga rose to prominence in 2017 when he moved from Nkwazi FC in Zambia to Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.
He scored 16 goals and provided 16 assists in 77 appearances for the Buccaneers between 2017 and 2020 and helped guide them to back-to-back second-place finishes in the league.
In October 2020 he moved to Marumo Gallants where he stayed for just three months before signing a six-month contract with Cape Town City FC.
Shonga has been a free agent since being released from Cape Town City in mid-2021.
Thanks to his reputation, he still managed to attract the interest of Algerian side JS Kabiyle and Ismaily SC of Egypt – and according to Kickoff he’s opted for the latter, signing a three-year contract.
Shonga, still only 24, also has 19 caps for Zambia in which he has scored six goals.
His last appearance for Chipolopolo came in November of last year.
Ismaily finished 13th in the 18-team Egyptian Premier League standings last season
.In the unlikely scenario anyone requires reminding, Percy Tau moved to Egyptian giants Al Ahly from English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
