More Goals Than Chiefs, The Young Star Is Praised
More Goals Than Chiefs & 6 Others, Letsoalo Praised
Royal AM head coach John Maduka has commented on the rich vein of form of striker Victor Letsoalo, that has seen him outscore the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and six other teams.
The 28-year-old has experienced a Midas touch this campaign, scoring in four consecutive matches, including a brace against Amakhosi in their 4-1 drubbing of Stuart Baxter’s side.
Now, after finding the back of the net once again in their KwaZulu-Natal derby, Letsoalo has taken his tally to five goals for the season, which has seen him outscore seven DStv Premiership clubs, including Amakhosi.
AmaZulu (4), Cape Town City (3) Chiefs (4), Chippa United (3), Swallows FC (1), Marumo Gallants (1), TS Galaxy (4) have all scored fewer goals than Letsoalo this season, while he is level on goals with Maritzburg United (5), Sekhukhune United (5) and Baroka FC (5).
His coach has been full of praise for the striker who has propelled the KZN outfit into third place on the log standings.
“Look, we are so proud of him, so proud of the players, the way they [are] working very hard. At training he always works very hard, and it pays – it comes in the game. He’s a striker, he’s a box striker, he loves scoring goals. And we hope that nothing bad happens to him, especially injuries and suspensions, so he continues likes this, but it is good to have a player of his calibre in our team,” he told Supersport after the game.
Letsoalo will now be hoping to replicate purple patch for Bafana Bafana, having been included in the 23-man squad to take on Ethiopia in back-to-back FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers against Ethiopia.
