Goodman Mosele is NOT a “good man” after all, it seems!
The Orlando Pirates star midfielder has gone AWOL and he couldn’t be reached by Bafana Bafana for the Ethiopia tie.
Mosele, 21, was selected in the latest Bafana Bafana to face Ethiopia in back-to-back FIFA World Cup qualifiers this week.
However, he didn’t report for the national team camp on Sunday, and was, therefore, withdrawn from the Bafana Bafana squad and replaced.
Speaking to the South African Football Association (SAFA) media, coach Hugo Broos expressed extreme disappointment at Mosele.
Mosele has since been replaced by SuperSport United youngstar Jesse Donn, and Broos said he is happy with his choice.
“Sadly Goodman has absconded. We have tried reaching him to no avail and this is extremely disappointing,” said Broos.
“We are very happy that Jesse Donn has heeded the call and reported for duty almost immediately,” added Broos.
This was Mosele’s first call-up to the Bafana Bafana squad, and his stunt could well hamper his chances of playing under Broos.
