The Zambian star has been encouraged to leave the club, Lazarous Kambole, 27, has not been given game time this season, he has been on the transfer list since the off-season after struggling through his first two years at the club scoring just once in 40 appearances. Kambole name has been on transfer list just like his other teammate at the club, Siphosakhe Ntiya-Ntiya.

Lazarous Kambole (#7/Forward)

“Who is his agent and what is he doing about this?” asks Albert Bwalya.

Bwalya is a retired Zambian who also played for Kaizer Chiefs and went through a similar experience when his battles for game-time forced him to move to Wits University on loan in 1989.

“The solution to his situation is that he should move because in putting him on the transfer list they (Chiefs) have made their message loud and clear to him that he is not in the plans.

“I know it can be difficult moving on from Chiefs but there comes a time when you must do it and he has to do it. He should have left already in the last window.

“Whether he goes to a small team doesn’t matter because it doesn’t help to stick around at Chiefs when you are not playing. How will it help for him to stay at Chiefs not playing until the end of his contract? His value will have dropped by then and no one will want to take him.

“When they got him from ZESCO he was a hit but now he has lost that touch. He doesn’t have the touch anymore because he is not playing. So, he must leave. The fact is that whatever offer he gets from now will not match what he is earning at Chiefs and that is because he has not been playing.

“The longer he sits at Chiefs the worse it will get for him when it is time to leave because all the teams will just be rejecting him. He must just simply move on instead of waiting and hoping when time waits for anybody. In this situation you need to move on even if it means a salary cut,” says Bwalya.

Last month a move to Young Africans fell through for Kambole after he failed to agree to personal terms with the Tanzanian side.

Zambian international’s contract at Chiefs expires in June 2022 by which time he will have spent three years at the club.

In spite of not having a very productive season at Kaizer Chiefs, Kambole had a good season at the Zambian giants Zesco United. He scored the fastest hattrick in the Caf Champions League for Zesco United against Mbabane Swallows in only five minutes.
