Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids has confirmed that Thembinkosi Lorch is side-lined with a long-term injury.
Lorch has not featured for the Buccaneers this season yet, but Pirates did not give an update on him when giving their team news on Friday.
On Saturday, the Buccaneers collected their first victory of the season, beating Swallows FC 1-0.
After the match, coach Davids gave an update on Lorch when asked about the winger by iDiski Times.
“We won’t see him again this year,” Davids said.
“He’s out with a long-term injury.”
Davids was also pleased with his side’s performance and their first victory of 2021/22.
“The match as a whole, we’re very pleased,” he added.
“We executed the game plan. We know Swallows is a really well-structured team, how they attack, how they create.
“And I think credit to the players how they followed the plan we identified. Unfortunately we didn’t get more goals but overall we are really pleased.”
