Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly close to completing the signing of a foreign based South African star!
24 year old midfielder Thabo Cele has been linked with a move to a PSL club after his trial at Polish outfit Radomiak was unsuccessful.
The Kwa-Mashu born star is a free agent after leaving Portuguese outfit Clube Desportivo Cova da Piedade at the end of the previous season and he has since reportedly caught the eye of Kaizer Chiefs.
Cele spent the last five years in Portugal and he was once upon a time under European super agent Jorge Mendes (Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent) however his time in Europe looks to be up, for the time being at least.
THABO CELE EDGING CLOSER TO KAIZER CHIEFS MOVE
According to local football publication Idiski Times, Thabo Cele has opted to join Kaizer Chiefs and the deal could be completed in the coming days.
“Apart from Chiefs, clubs such as Maritzburg United, AmaZulu Cape Town City and TS Galaxy were understood to be looking into the midfielder.”
“However, this publication has picked it up from people close to his camp that it is just a matter of time before he makes his way to Naturena (Kaizer Chiefs), as this was his preferred destination after the overseas moves failed to materialise after the Olympics.”
Thabo Cele will join Kaizer Chiefs with a wealth of European experience. He was also a standard feature in David Notoane’s South Africa U23 side that took part in the recently concluded Olympic games.
Cele started all three of South Africa’s group stage matches against Japan, France and Mexico respectively.
