Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana has stopped training with the first team.
Indications are that the midfielder could join another club in the coming days or be given a new role on the club similarly to Tiyani Mabunda.
They were rumours that he was offered a contract at Swallows because the technical team had no place for him ahead of their 2021/22 season plans.
But the player decided to stay and fight for his place.
Now, four games into the new campaign and the 36-year-old has not made the matchday squad, rumours are that Kekana was told he won’t be playing for the first team at all.
News are that the veteran midfielder has stopped training with the club and is preparing to join another club or be given a new role at the club.
Tiyani Mabunda, is now the club ambassador after his contract was not extended when it ended in June.
Kekana signed a new deal during coach Pitso Mosimane with the club revealing that he would be contracted until June 2024.
He has won six league titles, as well as the CAF Champions League and Super Cup trophies.
