UEFA have announced the nominees for the Men’s 2020/21 Player of the Year and Coach Of the Year awards.
Luka Modric was the last midfielder to win the accolade, while Andres Iniesta was the only other midfielder to have also won the award.
Chelsea walked away with the big prize after defeating Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League final.
The Blues dominate the Men’s Player of the Year nominees with two players, including Champions League final Man of the Match N’Golo Kante and Jorginho.
Messi did not make the final list after finishing fourth in the voting.
Kante will go up against Jorgihno ,De Bruyne for the player of the year award.City manager will complete Tuchel and Roberto Mancini for the coach of the year award.
All the awards will be presented at the Champions League draw ceremony on Thursday, 26 August in Istanbul.
