Etienne Eto’o Pineda, 19, was released by Real Oviedo, who play in the second tier of Spanish football, at the end of the 2020/21 season, but has reportedly been offered a new opportunity to showcase his talent.
Samuel Eto’o’s son, Etienne, has been offered a trial at one of the biggest clubs in the game, Benfica, with the 19-year-old aiming to make his mark in Europe.
The striker made headlines earlier this year when he scored two goals in two games for the Cameroon U20 team, including a free-kick on his debut for the side.
Etienne has bigger dreams after revealing during an interview that he hopes to be know all over the world like his dad.
“My dad has played a huge influence in my life because I have always admired him and want to learn from him and continue in his steps. Always I want to be someone like him.
“I want to try and be better than him and I am always looking forward to stepping on the pitch and giving my best.
Cameroon U20 international is said to be training with the Portuguese club’s B team and will be hoping to stay on a permanent contract.
