PSL Chairman Irvin Khoza has addressed about implementation of Video Assistant Refree(VAR) in South Africa.
Football Fans have roaring on the past two seasons on the issue of VAR . PSL reached new heights this past weekend after several questionable decisions during the penalty shootout being Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.
However Khoza has warned supporters to temper their expectations cause it not something that can be just be done easily the costs will need to be dealt with well.
“There was a discussion about it, obviously in the next joint committee meeting because the issues with referees reside with SAFA but there’s a cost factor that foes with it which must be factored into the discussion” said Khoza.
Khoza admitted that VAR will make a huge change to the PSL.The always recieve complaints about refree’s mistakes.
“It’s a good thing to do in enhancing the product and making sure that technically we are sound and make sure that people are satisfied although some people are not satisfied in Europe [about VAR] because when you see the millimetres judgement of the offside line, the naked eye can’t see, it gets people irritated sometimes,” Khoza explained.
It not something they’ve agreed on but ,but it a idea that came by.
