Raphael Varane has shown his commitment to being ready for the upcoming Premier League season with new suitors Manchester United by posting a brief practice session online.
The former Real Madrid defender has kept silent about his impending £42million transfer to Old Trafford, despite the Red Devils confirming the deal themselves almost two weeks ago.
But that all changed with an Instagram post from Varane on Sunday, in which he can be seen doing kick-ups in a garden.
Tellingly, his location is clearly stated as ‘Manchester, United Kingdom’ with a caption underneath it saying ‘quarantine practice!’
Varane is currently having to quarantine due to the British government’s overseas travel Covid-19 protocols, but is set to be unveiled at United as soon as his isolation is over.
The 28-year-old World Cup-winning centre-back has long been one of United’s top targets. Varane’s contract at the Bernebeu was set to expire next summer, meaning United got him for a price well below what his market value would have been 12 months previously
Varane – a four-time Champions League winner and three-time LaLiga champion – adds much-needed experience to United’s defence and a stable partner for £80m centre-half Harry Maguire.
