Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Jack Grealish for a reported £100 million (R2 billion)
The Premier League champions have signed the 25-year-old for a club-record fee, with the England international becoming the most expensive signing of Pep Guardiola’s career.
The Premier League side is set to welcome Grealish to the club as their second signing, after back-up goalkeeper Scott Carson, ahead of the 2021/22 season after confirming that a deal has been agreed with Aston Villa.
With the transfer fee understood to be £100 million, the 25-year-old now holds the record for the most expensive Bristish player ever that was previously held by Gareth Bale following the Wales star’s £85 million (R1.6 billion) transfer from Tottenham Hotspur to Real Madrid in 2013.
It is understood that Grealish has signed a five-year contract with the Manchester club, which will see him stay at the Etihad until 2026.
With his move, Grealish is officially the most expensive signing of this transfer window, with Jadon Sancho’s move to Manchester United moving down to second.
