The other new signings for Usuthu, as announced by the club, are: Keagan Buchanan, Mxolisi Kunene, Tercious Malepe, Tshepang Moremi, Philani Zulu and Lindani Shange.

McCarthy oversaw a record 16-game unbeaten run on route to helping them to a runners-up spot in the inaugural DStv Premiership campaign, thus qualifying them for Africa’s elite club competition for the first time in their history.

With Lindani Shange and Tshepang Moremi also promoted from the DStv Diski Challenge squad while president Sandile Zungu confirmed more signings will be announced in due course.

AmaZulu are scheduled to get the new season underway with the MTN8 quarter-final match against Cape Town City on August 15 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

In their opening DStv Premiership fixture, the Durban outfit will travel to the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns on August 20.
