Alexander was unveiled alongside Keagan Dolly as a new Kaizer Chiefs player earlier this week when he penned a three-year deal with the Amakhosi, joining the club on a free transfer after parting ways with Indian Super League side Odisha FC.
The 32-year-old midfielder has reunited with his former Odisha boss Stuart Baxter at Chiefs but his arrival at Naturena was not universally celebrated, with sections of the Soweto giants’ fanbase raising questions about his age.
Speaking to the club’s media following his unveiling, Alexander revealed that he was aware of the criticism levelled against his acquisition but insisted that he would give nothing but his best to aid the club’s cause.
“I try not to read too much into the media, but I still see there’s a lot out there,” the former Bidvest Wits star said. “What I can promise every Chiefs player and supporter is that I am a player who gives my best and nothing less. That’s all you can do.”

Cape Town, Vasco da Game, Chippa United, Polokwane City, SuperSport United at Wits prior to his spell in India.
