Orlando Pirates are reportedly close to signing an exciting young Ghanaian striker who’s currently on the books of King Faisal Babes. A professional football club in Kumasi, Ashanti, Ghana. The club competes in the Glo Premier League.
According to GHANAsoccernet, Pirates have firmly set their sights on Kwame Peprah. The proposed deal could be concluded in the coming days. The publication further reports that Pirates have already reached an agreement with Faisal and Peprah’s representatives.
All that’s left is for Peprah to fly into the country for his medicals before putting pen to paper with Pirates, reports the same publication. There is already an agreement between the Soweto giants and Faisal and the player’s representatives,”claims the Ghanaian media house. Peprah is expected to leave Ghana for South Africa in the next few days to undergo his medical examination and complete his move to Pirates.”
Peprah is a 20-year-old striker who often captains Faisal, and was instrumental in helping the Kumasi-based club avoid relegation last season. He was directly involved in 20 goals for Faisal – scoring 12 goals and registering 10 assists in 29 competitive matches for the club last term.
Peprah bagged seven man of the match awards from those 29 matches as he was constantly head and shoulders above his teammates.
Earlier this month, Pirates announced four new signings ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, including last season’s Glad Africa Championship top goalscorer Monnapule Saleng and former Maritzburg United, Bidvest Wits and Cape Town City defender Kwanda Mngonyama.
The other signings are midfielder Goodman Mosele, snapped up on a four-year deal from Baroka FC, and full back Bandile Shandu. Like Mngonyama, Shandu joins Pirates as a free agent.
