Wedson Nyirenda has raised his hand once again for the Zambian national team job following the sacking of Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic over the weekend.
This has suddenly reformed Nyirenda’s desire to lead the nation once again, with the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers coming up soon.
“I’m ready to take up the job if called upon. This is what patriotism is, I have been patriotic from the time I was a player, even the time I started coaching, and I will not stop now,” Nyirenda is quoted as saying by the Zambian Daily Mail.
“If I am the one coming in, I will do my best. I am humbled that fans want me back. That is football. The same people who will insult you will be the same people to uplift you,” he added.
Nyirenda played for Chiefs in the early ’90s and is currently in charge of Lusaka Dynamos in the Zambian Super
