Amakhosi prepare to face Egyptian side Al Ahly in the final of the 2020-21 CAFCL, Stuart Baxter will begin his second tenure as coach of Kaizer Chiefs with the biggest game of his career and the club’s history. Baxter is looking forward to facing the defending African Champions and their coach, Pitso Mosimane, whom he faced five times in league games during his first stint as Chiefs coach, from May 2012 to June 2015.  In the five games, Baxter came out on top with two wins to Mosimane’s one, with two more games ending in ties.

Baxter was happy with his team’s final preparation, as well as their pre-final camp in Limpopo province, where they spent a week getting ready for the game before flying to Morocco.

“We began off in Polokwane, where we had a good camp up there, where we worked on some of the core things that we wanted to work on,” he continued.
The closer we got to the game, the more detail we went into.
Given the time constraints, as well as the conditions and challenges we faced, the lads performed admirably.
They’ve prepared themselves to the best of their abilities.”
He also has no illusions that the Egyptians will want to push the Chiefs to their limits by drawing on their previous experience in big games, but he has a plan to fight that.
“Of course, there will be times against a team like Al Ahly where we will struggle and be stretched,” he added, “but we will get through it so that when we have a good patch, we can harm them.”
