A current top Kaizer Chiefs player and Amakhosi legend is preparing to hang up his boot after a truly incredible career at Naturena and with Bafana Bafana.
THE END OF AN ERA FOR BERNARD PARKER AND KAIZER CHIEFS
Bernard Parker spoke to Goal, confirming that he is now coming to terms with the end of his career.
The Amakhosi legend is unlikely to renew his current contract according to his agent, Mike Makaab. According to Mike, Parker is getting ready for life after football and has accepted that his career is nearly over.
“We are not talking to Chiefs about Bernard’s contract which is ending at the end of the season. He is no longer a young player,”
“Other than that he is a good man, well educated. He understands that there is life after football. Bernard wishes to work for Chiefs in any capacity,” explained Makaab.
Parker is an Amakhosi legend, he is Chiefs’ highest all-time PSL goal-scorer with 62 goals.
Die Hond has won two PSL titles, a Nedbank Cup and a MTN8 with the Glamour boys – playing an instrumental role in their success. He is a veteran and leader in this and has started 14 time for Kaizer Chiefs across all competitions this season.
