Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Arthur Zwane has reacted to the team’s Nedbank Cup draw, while giving updates on the progress of players like Samir Nurkovic and Lebogang Manyama.
Chiefs have been drawn against TS Galaxy in the round of 32 in the cup.
Zwane has reported about the Amakhosi training camp, including good news involving two players who had been out with lengthy injuries, Samir Nurkovic and Lebogang Manyama.
“So far, so good in terms of the response from the boys,” Zwane told the club’s media department.
“It hasn’t been easy, obviously. Because we come back from a situation, and yes, getting about 10 to 12 days of rest, spending some time with our families gave us the opportunity, obviously to reflect and coming back now this year, and also second round of the PSL league games, is going to be demanding.
“I think now six days of training and the boys they look not bad, they look good, and even those who are coming from injuries, like Samir, he is coming up well.
“And we also have (coming from) a long, long layoff injury, Lebo also, he looks good.
“And ja. from the sessions, the boys have responded very positively, and we’re looking forward to the game. And obviously we’re gonna be in camp for about 12 days, so ja, we’ll take it from there.
“Hopefully, we’re not gonna experience some, some bad injuries in the camp. And by the time we play our Nedbank game, we’ll have everyone available for selection. And ja. knowing very well, that we are playing against a very difficult team in TS Galaxy, and they also have a coach that is doing well for them.
“You can even see when they build up from the back and, and trying to connect with the midfielders and their forwards, their structure looks solid.
“And they are going to be difficult team to break, but ja, I think we’re equal to the task.”
