Orlando Pirates are set to make an announcement on the departure of another star, following the shock exit of Thabang Monare, among the players released by the club since the season finished.
Earlier this week, the Buccaneers confirmed parting ways with six players, including fan favourite Thabang Monare whose contract has not been renewed, as well as veteran goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands who will also see his deal come to an end on June 30.
After making seven starts in Bucs’ 2021/22 DStv Premiership campaign, Tshegofatso Mabasa is set to leave, with the indications from close sources that a deal has been agreed to with Sekhukhune United for the 25-year-old, despite the reports linking the former Bloemfontein Celtic player with Cape Town City.
“Tshegofatso Mabasa is moving to Sekhukhune United for the new season. It’s a deal that has been agreed to between Pirates and Sekhukhune and both clubs are happy with it. It’s a loan deal from what I understand,” said the source.
With the arrival of Bienvenu Eva Nga and Evidence Makgopa among the new signings at Pirates, the club is making vital decisions for the team’s front line for the new season.
Last season, Pirates had two players on loan at Babina Noko in the young Katlego Cwinyane and Justice Chabalala who has since been released from the Soweto giants and Mabasa is set to become the latest player to join the ambitious club on loan.
