Six Sundowns players have signed long-term contracts with the club

“After consulting with the technical staff, the club was forced to tie them down ” a source stated. Mamelodi Sundowns have extended the contracts of six of their key players and signed long-term contracts with them.

  • Lebohang Maboe
  • Mosa Lebosa

have all extended their stays at Chloorkop, our sources has been told.

Jali and Zwane have been granted an additional three years at Masandawana. Maboe and Coetzee have been given an additional five years, while Lebusa and Lakay have been handed four years apiece.

“Following talks with the technical experts, the club was forced to tie them down. They waited for the coaches’ reports to see  if the sundowns players were still required before committing to them.

“Because the club does not want to have too many players, many of them are excluded from the sundowns squad and become a surplus. The squad will be drastically reduced.

“We are now waiting to see who will be released but there are quite a few of them who could be let go,” said a source.

Meanwhile, as previously reported, Mamelodi Sundowns will either have to cope with a disgruntled player or risk losing one of their most valuable assets in Gaston Sirino.
