Kaizer Chiefs are in NO hurry to appoint a new permanent coach as their aim is to complete the current campaign.
And that’s according to Amakhosi Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung, who brushed the question of the coach’s appointment aside.
As things stand, Chiefs are coached by both Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard on an interim basis following the sacking of Stuart Baxter in April.
Baxter was relieved of his duties as Chiefs coach barely a year after taking over from Gavin Hunt following a series of poor results coupled with the pressure from the fans.
At the time of his departure, Chiefs had missed out on the CAF Champions League title, the league, the MTN8 and the Nedbank Cup.
Now, what’s on everyone’s lips is the appointment of the new coach who will be expected to come and bring back the old glory days.
Some Chiefs fans are advocating for a local coach, in this case Zwane, while others believe a foreign coach with a Cup pedigree is what the club needs going forward.

“We will finish the season off and make an announcement in due course,” that’s all Jessica was prepared to say to reporters this week.
